Through Your Eyes

By Abyssia

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I see myself through your eyes, But without recognition. For what I see before me Is a girl With many dreams, But no aspiration. A soul Filled with love, But which knows no commitment. A mind That is strong, But a will that is weak. And a heart That has been reaped Of joy by things of the past. I see myself through your eyes, But do not recognize - For to me, My dreams Have been realized through you. My soul Is filled with a love That goes beyond mere commitment. I find that it is my will that is strong, While my mind weakens more With your every doubt of my love for you. And while you are correct, That the joy in my heart Has all but vanished... It is not things of the past, But things of the present That have done the reaping. My heart has cried out to you, But you have yet to hear its meaning. And I am slowly running out of tears.
