Hero Worship
I’ve always wanted to be a hero, Fight the good fight. Hear people chanting my name, Having the world stand up and say Hear she is, Shes not the media image But we love her anyway. It’s not the war you need to live through It’s the consequences. The hero is loved, The hero is used until the next comes along. Each week we see them, All fought for their reasons. But I want to be up in lights, I want to be able to give everything And take it all too. I want to be the one people look up to People dream to be, want to see. It this too much to ask? Am I over steeping my station? Is my dream to be extinguished? I’m selfish I know, I want to rub their faces in my success. People, who hurt me, took my pride. I don’t know why but I’ve always wanted the spot light, But when it’s on me I shy away. But in my heart I want to be a hero Sour above the clouds, Looking out of my fishbowl. Seeing the world from another angle. I’ve always wanted to be a hero. Written October 14th, 2001 © on Oct 14 2001 12:59 AM PST, Rebecca 0 • 10
