Open Your Eyes

Nothing is solved – Nothing changed I am still the bad guy In this scenario – just as I always am The fall guy – to take the blame Because it’s easier than realising Who’s at fault. A habit forged so long ago We will never be able to break. Easy targets to hurt Easy since you don’t see The pain you inflect with your Careless actions – careless words. You spill your venom and then Leave without a care. With each passing day - you take From me something ohh so precious But in your mind – there not even a second thought I wonder if there was even a first. Did you ever consider my feelings –? You complain that we don’t make an effort. But would you keep making an effort If time and time again you were pushed away You can only take so much Before you come to the conclusion – You’re just not wanted. I always thought we would be friends forever We would look out for each other, I’ve been told blood was thicker than water But now I see its not – blood doesn’t mean anything to you I’ve been stepped on enough, made to feel inferior Made to feel I’m not worthy enough Not good enough – just not enough for you. I’m not writing this to make you feel bad or Lay a guilt trip on you But to let you know – how I feel So for once you can see – so you can open your eyes Too my pain, hate and agony that’s etched upon my face Etched upon my heart, but I think it’s getting too late To save me, I feel like I’m going under And I’m not too sure I want to be saved. I don’t want to play these silly games Politics in families – stupid pride Is killing us all. So I’m asking you to open your eyes Open your heart to this If you don’t care about me – fine. If you don’t care about this family – fine But don’t take from me anymore than you already have.
