Perceptions Ajar
Flashing lights, Guitar riffs Tight leather pants Revealing neck lines Words no longer put to paper But twist and sway In the dancing of the lights music The image is more important It enslaves our emotions These are all parts of our Modern day Poet Love, hate, distrust Anger, passion, sorrow All tools to be used And abused. Teenage depressions For all to hear Melody and Harmonies Developed and polished This are all used by our Modern day Poet This Modern day Poet is no friend of mine They reveal all our secrets As they were to be shared. Can you honestly say this was your childhood? Did you suffer so much? Were you always picked last? Weren’t you loved enough? What excuse can you come up with next? Are you going to tell me you know my pain? You know my emotions, You know how I feel in the darkness of the night Laying by myself? All right you Modern day Poet Polish my life for all to see Make it happy, perfect families. These Modern day Poets are no different from the last They lie to us too.I cant remember when this was written but there is another poem called Modern Day Poets is it just about the same but please have a look at that too., Written September 10th, 2001 © on Sep 09 2001 09:25 PM PST, Rebecca 0 • 1
