Within the Moment 2

With the smallest of movements with the smallest of sounds I know you are coming I know you are around twisted dreams, demented lies can you hear this screaming or is it in my mind with each slice I seep with red The tiles are cold now under this body of mine I float above this scene and wonder will anyone morn for me This pain I feel it tells me I am real Because with all this emptiness inside I feel like its going to swallow me I’m full of emptiness inside My mind starts to drift I can see them all now there tears as fake as their smiles Oh how if they only knew, if I told someone it would of been all right But who would I tell - you? Would you of listened? Would you of cared? Would you of helped me? This secret has hollowed me From the inside out so before I fall back asleep I see my manifesto My life’s work It reveals all my lies and your too. He's here now It’s my time to go so forgive me Because I just couldn’t stay any longer My last breath has come and gone And I see myself smiling As I lay up against the blood stained tiles I wish it didn’t have to be this way That you didn’t have to find me. Your screams permeated my lifeless ears As you tried to fight the moment But it had already passed. Your tears I never thought your tears would engulf me so Such sadness – so hollow So it was you who mourned for me Shame flooded over me It wasn’t just me It wasn’t just me who would die that night The night drifted into day As the police floated in and away Yet you still stayed. I could heard your thoughts Your curses – your pleads Your questions why And I hated myself for not being able to answer them Hold you in my arms and protect you from them. I was I too weak to go on? Or was I strong to end it? The silence screamed As I watched over you People trying to comfort you Tell you it would be all right. As the sunset displayed another of its mysteries I watched as it glinted in the fading light And your mind was hollow with grief Laying upon the frigid tiles You went to follow in my footsteps I cried for you to stop I screamed for you to see sense But your ears never heard my plea And I saw the life drain from you You were so close – but I couldn’t let it happen I couldn’t be responsible for another wasted life Crying as only the dead could do, I prayed I prayed to whoever was there – I prayed for your life Because I knew this was not you You are stronger than I am – You can live As I open my eyes I saw yours I saw the man come around the corner I saw his cry for help – the way he held you It was then that I knew He was that man for you. Time has past since that day But I still watch over you Watch over your children And you know it You hear my whispers on the wind I will forever be grateful to the man you now love Because he not only saved your life But he also saved mine.I know this is long but i think its worth it.....i have Within the Moment which is the same up until "He's here now It’s my time to go...so forgive me...Because I just couldn’t stay any longer" after that its a new poem so please give it a read.......thanks Written November 9th, 2001 © on Nov 08 2001 08:17 PM PST, Rebecca   0 • 10
