~~ Window to Heaven~~ (Green Trophy Honorable Mention)

By Blushfulmoon

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I wish there were A Window to Heaven So that I might glimpse and see Just what is waitng on the other side For a person like me~ Is the sky etched in stained glass? Like the windows of a church Will God be there waiting for us Or will we have to search~ Do angels really float along? And are the streets paved with gold? After all for years and years That's the story we've been told~ Will loved ones that gone on before us Recognize us once we are there? And will our friends and family miss us Or will they really care~ Does it rain or does it snow? Or is it radiant everday Do we laugh and recall memories In the youth of our yesterday~ Will we  look like we did on earth? Or are we forever young So many questions left unanswered That's a mystery to everyone~ I wish there were A window to Heaven So I might glimpse and see Just what is waiting On the other side For a person like me~March 1994 This one has been published......In a Christian Magazine.... I have always been told this is what heaven looks like with Streets Paved of Gold we're not hurting anymore and are forever young Written December 8th, 2001 © on Dec 08 2001 12:45 PM PST, Susan Vessels    spiritual
