Awakening: An Arrival
By bonnie blue
God spoke, And I listened and heard… His voice reached me through an online friend, making a suggestion that changed my life beyond imagination. An invitation to read his work turned me onto a new path and opened my heart to its blooming like morning’s scarlet glory. (I would have laughed at such a statement, had it been heard by [hidden] inner mother. who would have sneered. ‘You have only memories of youthful flowered dreams, and you were long since deflowered ‘ [the wry cruel snicker] You have nothing to say! For what is your life if not ordinary? And you would call yourself poet? Ha!’) Grateful am I that my ear was attuned elsewhere; I did not hear these thoughts of self-mocking destruction. Now I cast my lot on this ground; my heart, given voice. Home I have come to share with my kin, bidden to give our gifts… our souls: stirring the words to paint portraits of lives lived; love gained…and lost; adventures lived; heroes: made…and unmade… likely or unlikely; nightmares screamed. dreams envisioned. Filled I am with the beauty of simple breathing, with the laughter and the tears of these souls, my kindred; with the awesome power of winged hope streaming from these hearts bruised and scarred, yet perfect; impaired, suffering, yet flying as angels. I am blessed. Bonnie Cook 11-Apr-02~more on my personal journey...just some thoughts on doing seeking, and finding, destiny~ Written April 15th, 2002 © on Apr 15 2002 10:04 AM PST 0 • 12
