Pondering the Parallels

By bonnie blue

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Parallels keep running through my life, And I ask why?  Why does this question Appear again… and again? Why are there so many coincidences that beg acknowledgement, yet Aspire to be more than coincidence? From where have these kindred spirits Come…that lead me to the light? Or is it, what are they, not from where? Opportunity… so much depends upon Our perception of this:  for you cannot Receive what you fail to recognize. Opportunity: it is this that God offers; And the voice of God may take any form That He wishes, to speak to us. Any form at all…a bird singing in a certain tree; A gentle breeze brushing against the cheek; A raindrop, splashing onto thirsty ground; The child next door playing in the sun; Or the falling angelic snowflakes. He may speak through the next person you meet, Or the person typing the words On your screen…from the other side Of somewhere, somewhen… And since you can never know When God may send the next opportunity ---a thing ever changing--- Be ready to know it, when it comes.  Be listening always. For all too soon, chances slip away Lost forever; a path not discovered, Nor any foot set upon it, Unless you are listening: Then will your path open. These are things my journey Have brought me to know: Follow blindly not Those who do not understand this: That you receive not what you Have never asked for; Your request is answered, Even before the question Yet clothes itself in words. Know that God understands Deepest feelings, thoughts unexpressed, Sorrows untold and joys yet to be born. These are in His understanding Because He gave them to us The tools we would need in life On all levels, in the here, In the unseen beyond. Know that the mind of God Is our mind as well, As borne of Him we are. Made of His essence Enlivened by His breath Found in His excellence. Know that God above all Is love,  in all its permutations Those that we know of And those we do not, Those not yet achieved. Love is the highest, purest Form of energy existing; Love will transform us, When we truly let it. These are my sacred truths. So I go on, mindful of The parallels in life; Joining other souls, other lights, Partaking of their gifts; Sharing what I can give. No longer am I surprised By the merging of threads at once both straight and intersecting; for I am learning That all these lines lead me ever Onward down my path And I am enriched In the pilgrimage.
