Quietly now...

By bonnie blue

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Quietly now… Don’t break This peace, This crystalline moment In time and space, Where I can See you In my mind’s eye… Sleeping… Dreaming… Hopefully of me… Rest, my love. Tomorrow, the world Reclaims you; Responsibility anchors you To a ship slowly sinking. I beg you, Be not the captain Going down with his ship. You will drown… There is no hope there. Someday, Our time will be here, Yours and mine; I am ready to be your Heart’s dearest desire And your helpmeet. I can, you know… You know my strength… I’ve survived worse than this. I’ll get through it. But I am worried for you… Let me be a part of Your solution, your comfort; Use me to lean on. I want that… I need to know That you trust me enough To take me in, And let me show you The depth and breadth Of this precious love I have for you.
