Tears

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Tears, my love… I have cried so many. Heart heavy with sorrow, Seeing only empty tomorrows. A life without you in it Felt like no life at all. The silence stood between us Like a steel door. Cold.  Locked.  Impenetrable. Tears.  Only tears… Death could not have been worse. Till today… And now there is this Bright jewel of knowing That you still love me, Still care…because you told me so… A gift I did not expect; One that will be cherished always And will keep my heart filled And open to you. Still there are tears, my love… But they are tears of the greatest joy I have ever known. I love you with all of my heart Every fiber of my soul Every breath I breathe. I thank God for your love, For I know it is only With His blessing That our hearts will be one. Believe this, my love. It is true.
