Fragilicus

FRAGILICUS Fragilicus, your soft petals open and reveal far too much tenderness beneath; In death you act like you are alive, in life you act like you are death. Far too often, life’s expectations are not realized; Even more often are those expectations over-sized? Come with me now, and let’s leave life’s beaten path; Venture into the unknown, look for both darkness and light; Dive into the void of a black hole, Surf on the shimmering waves of a sun-spot And, let’s don’t care if we don’t do it just the way they say; For those who’ve never tried, how can they know the way? You and I together, loose in a universe both great and wide; Longing for nothing, but lusting for everything. Spread out wings and float with the clouds, And laugh at those who stay fixed on the ground! We can find meaning in the things most “people” ignore, If they’ve never explored it, how can they know what it’s for? Fragilicus, I know you have the heart, For I can see it, beating, down amongst the petals. Everyone loves you, but some take advantage, Of a heart so tender, so soft, it is easily led. And you know of course when you’ve been led astray; But silently you hurt, when others get their way. That’s why I think it important that you come out of your shell; And do your own thing for a while; maybe forever! Just let me guide you, and we’ll get wherever we want; Yes, our friends will miss us, but time heals all. So, tonight let’s do it, let’s open up our wings; And leave the world behind, while we sing of other things. Come, Fragilicus, take my hand; Trust me, love me, let me be your friend. I may disappoint you, but I will not hurt you; Come fly with me, we will see where we will go. Let me spread your petals, and gaze upon your heart; And I’ll show you my heart too, it’s been yours from the start. Written June 16th, 2001 © on Jun 16 2001 12:06 PM PST, Brazos Mason   0 • 8
