The Sandbox

By Burden of Atlas

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The sun shines down On a boy in his sandbox as he builds a sandcastle He loves the sun He loves his sandbox With childish innocence he works, caring not for his future He could become a doctor and save life Or he could become a soldier and take life away He could become a rich, successful businessman Or he could become a poor homeless man on the street But for right now, all he cares about is his sandcastle Wow!  This is the best sandcastle I've ever built! I'm gonna go get mom and show it to her! And as he runs to the house, all he thinks about is I love the sun I love my sandbox I love LifeI would give anything to be like this again :) Written November 10th, 2001 © on Nov 10 2001 07:19 AM PST   0 • 12
