A (Very) Silly Sestina
By Buzby
My darling are you there Can you see my lovely hair? While your head is all bare Mine is golden fair So you may gawp and stare For I really do not care No I really could not care And I know that you are there I can feel you as you stare At all my lovely hair, And I know it isn’t fair Not when your head is bare I know your head is bare And I said I didn’t care But my locks are soft and fair I stroke them when you’re there I love to play with hair And you know the people stare At your own bald head they stare So gleaming white and bare With not a single hair You might think you don’t care But I laugh when you’re not there Though it’s true it isn’t fair My locks so light and fair That all the crowds will stare Will you cry if you are there With your head so shiny bare? You say that you don’t care That you don’t have any hair But you wish you had some hair You say that it’s not fair I know you really care That all the people stare At your head all big and bare And you wish that I was there Be bold and bare, at lack of hair If I am there, then let them stare It is not fair, but do you care?Ho-Hum, a little bored this afternoon...
