Destiny's Daisy (English Sonnet)

By Buzby

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I picked a single daisy from the earth And gently pulled each petal from the head To find out just how much your love was worth With every petal pulled these words I said; He loves me he loves me not he loves me He loves me not…and so it went until The petal that came last would help me see If true love shared between us was God’s will The daisy petals fell down to the floor I closed my eyes and now began to pray That there would be another - just one more Please let our love go on just one more day Both God and Mother Nature gave their view And petals spoke of love for me and you Written January 19th, 2002 © on Jan 19 2002 03:35 AM PST   0 • 8
