Eve
By Buzby
All we ever wanted was a baby of our own,to make our life complete, to make our house a home. Finally it happened - in my womb you grewand we counted down the minutes to the date that you were due.We were longing just to see you, and at last our time it came, just knowing soon I’d hold you, kept me smiling through the pain. You made a silent entry, into a noisy worldand I heard your father shouting, “It’s a little baby girl.”But you were whisked away before I had a chance to see;they said that you were very ill, took you away from me.Later I did hold you, and my tears splashed on your head, but you would never feel them, my poor baby girl was dead.So we’ve named you for the Grandma, I never got to know,We hope she will watch over you, in the place that you now go.Our love and prayers go with you, as we lay you in the groundour darling baby Eve, who came and went without a sound.I'd just like to say that this isn't written about something that happened to me, but there was an event in my life that made me think about how those for whom this is a reality must feel, which inspired me to write the above.
