Hell on Earth
Told to go home, But with nowhere to turn, All she could do was cry out. Her dreams had died With the slams of his fists And the pounding of flesh in the night. She's broken and bruised, But no one could care less About this innocent girl's pain. She needed the help That no one had offered She'd die by his hand--or her own. Dark sunglasses Cover her eyes, not the tears-- She can even see through it herself. She weeps in the street Since she cannot with him Or else she'd get hurt even worse. But the agony of defeat Of this poor woman's soul Can be remedied only by death. She'll take his gun, And put an end to it all. Maybe she'll be happy when dead. No one will know Of this horribly tragic tale-- None of them have interest in her. Just a weak girl With no future nor past Who's been living in hell all this time. She'll be out of the way, And he'll do it once again To someone with no clue what he is. Sleep well, sweetheart. Let your soul be at peace. You don't deserve this anymore. But be sure to leave room Once you've arrived in heaven-- His next wife will be joining you soon. The horrors of marital abuse. Written October 18th, 2001 © on Oct 22 2001 06:25 AM PST 0 • 9
