In The Hands Of The Possessor
I see piercing shards of light Which penetrate my squinted eyes As I turn to the white moon A hole punctured in black. And from the cobwebbed corners of my mind Through the shifting shadows of my thoughts I gaze across the moon-washed sky To where you roam beyond the horizon Still in possession of my heart. My mind has long drifted away from my head My heart has long drifted out of my reach Both lie with you as you sink into sleep And stay with you as you start another day. I can no longer believe in the things you say No more can I hang on your every word I cannot trust you with my feelings and thoughts Nor hope you will hear me as I whisper for you I stand alone without daring to believe. And as I watch the moon fade in the clouds As it surrenders to pending daylight Leaving only fragments of splintered shine My heart still sings a song of undying love And I don't even try to quieten it.Not sure about the title ... this one is just a substitute until I find a better one. Any ideas? Written September 4th, 2001 © on Feb 23 2002 10:17 PM PST 0 • 1
