Moonlight Trance
I write in the glow of the elusive moonlight, I sway in a trance to its elegance and grace, On this ominously clear, hot summer night, It illuminates my room, As I stand in the path of its rays. I take in the mysterious, white shimmering haze, That emanates softly, silently From within its distant craters, One arm now outstretched, I hold my palm upwards, And touch the shiny light That sifts through the heavy summer atmosphere. My silhouette is embossed on the wall of my room, I am frozen in the bright white light, Transfixed in the silver glimmer, I stare up in awe As it hangs, isolated in the starless, cloudless sky, My skin tingles with a fresh cold feel, Everything out there is so still and perfect, As if frozen in time until the scorching sun Arises again over the rolling hills.
