Awaken
By Channa
As I lay awake in the stark of the night sleep will not ease my awaking feelings I am Like a child, expectation running high my mind has taken me to forbidden dreams childhood is gone, memories are fading through my mind eyes I see places of delight paradise of beauty, there love is abiding this world has disappeared, in its place came the night dreams of you and I by the ocean tide your hand brush against mine stirring the waves inside I stare at your eyes, color of the night skies I can't look at them, too afraid of good-byes strong urges repressed, resurfaced once more dorming for so long, they're now knocking at my door warmth engulfd me, throwing caution to the wind my flesh cries out, Oh, the power of the mind ever so subtle never ashamed to restore unspoken words of love, whispered so long before time for love, giving of oneself completely in dreams only, my bed is cold and lonely Dawn has broken, giving me a moment of respite Soft rays of sun bathe my pillow with golden lights I run to the pure river's cleansing stream I need to wash away this invading dream Yet I know, tonight I will be in the shadows and visions of you will encompass my soul.
