Simple pleasures

By Channa

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Running bare foot in the rain on hot summer days With my hair drenched falling down to my waist The smell of lilac in the month of may these are the things that I like best To cuddle under a blanket on a stormy night With nothing for light, but a candle bright Laughing at the dance of the firefly these are the things that makes me high Looking at the moon in the firmament spotting a shooting star, just for a moment breathing the fresh midnight air these are the things for which I care Don't give me jewels, expensive treasures I'd rather have simple pleasures Give me the night dreams and the love that can only come from above.
