Memories
By colleen
I hold in my memory A magical, special place Where two lovers are forever happy together They do not let the Evil tempters of time and distance Stand in the way of their love. It is eternally summer, The sun shines forever In this paradise And at night a gentle breeze blows into the bedroom Of the lovers And they can hear the waves crash To the shore in the distance As their bodies become one. Nothing on Earth is like this place. Sadness and heartache Are not welcome here, In this paradise of love, They try, unsuccessfully To sneak in every so often But are never allowed in The love here is too strong. In my memory He lives and breathes for her, And she does for him. Savoring every moment together. In my memory Their love has no end. But it is just a memory, A memory of a distant place far away A place I dreamt up On a lonley night; A dream I hold onto In hope that it will one day be my own.
