My Savior
By colleen
I stood there naked in front of the crowd Tears streaming down my face That came from no where No cause, They just started and never ended As the people sat there Whispering comments in a hushed tone So I wouldn't know that They were talking about me As they sat there staring with disapproving eyes. I look for something to cover myself up with But there is nothing around me; No one to turn to for comfort. Then from the back of the crowd Appears the most comforting face I have ever seen. His deep brown eyes are full of love, Familiarity and comfort, Not shame and disapproval as everyone else is. He runs up to my aid Wrapping his warm arms around me Covering my naked body So that the crowd can no longer see me. With all my flaws, all my nakedness. He walks me out of the room, Away from the crowd and the embarrassement My head on his shoulder, My wet tears staining his shirt, He wipes them off my cheek Kisses my forehead And whispers softly, 'Everything will be alright.' And I believe him. Written October 26th, 2001 © on Oct 25 2001 04:27 PM PST 18 • 0 • 8
