Red Roses
By colleen
The red roses are dying. I didn't even notice. I didn't notice the red fade To a gross shade of pink As I happily cleaned up the dying petal, Oblivious to the brown on The edge of each petal. I didn't see the brown of The rose water Or notice the awful stench That filled the room. It wasn't until one petal remained That I took noticeOf the dying flowers And I cried over my last reminder of you. Written January 7th, 2002 © on Jan 06 2002 04:34 PM PST 0 • 1
