The End of Summer
By colleen
I think it's so sad How the sun Will never shine for us Quite like it did So many years ago. It wil never shine wonderful hues Of pink, orange, and yellow For hours and hours, Long past the time It was supposed to be in bed, Tucked away, Asleep in its bed Resting its rays Until the next day. The sun Will never again Fall gracefully on your face Touching with love Those soft lips That felt like home. Never again will We own the summer, Feeling free to run around In the midst of our youth, In love with the summer And each other. Written November 14th, 2001 © on Nov 13 2001 03:53 PM PST 18 • 0 • 8
