Wake- UP

By colleen

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Springtime’s approaching, Don’t you think it’s time you woke up? It’s already March, Can’t you feel the Sunlight shining on your sleeping body, Calling you to wake up? You’ve slept too long The alarm clock has been Going off for weeks now, I really think it’s time you wake up. Summer’s shouting in the distance, Can’t you hear her, “I’m on my way and I expect you to be awake!” You can’t let her down. You’re body’s well- rested, The bruises have healed. So your leg’s broken in a few places And your fancy car With the over- priced rims is no more- You don’t have to shy away from Your beautiful world. So don’t you think it’s time you wake up?This is for a friend of mine who's been in a coma for over 3 weeks after an accident. Written March 17th, 2002 © on Mar 17 2002 04:42 AM PST   18 • 0 • 12
