Honest Stupidity
By Cope
Youth, all in all, is nothing more than honest stupidity, A form of honesty so pure and precious, It cannot be ignored or lost. The stupidity comes in when youth is lost. Lost upon the hardships of life, or the life yet to live, Burdened bye the questions, hopes, and dreams of the future. Wanting the future to come, and almost forcing it to happen, The stupidity of rushing, the perfection of letting things take course, Something we all strive to understand, That perfect pace of life, in which everything can be perfect, Perfect lives, where dreams become plans, and life becomes a dream, The dream then becomes reality, reality of a life lived in happiness. The honest stupidity of life, can only be described as life itself, As well as growing old, where lessons are learned, then taught again, Youth lacks wisdom, yet adults lack honesty and purity, Possibly due to the rushed pace of yesterdays life. In my adolescence to rush brings concern, Still concerned only about rushing, not about happiness. Youth is the future, and everyone’s future depends on youth, Why let stupidity, or what seems to be so, Hold us back from our future and yours as well? Do dreams not become reality, just as our land became a nation? Our country was built upon dreams, dreams of youth, Dreams of happiness and dreams of advancing as a species. Now, when it is needed most, The honesty and purity of youth, Left forgotten, shackled by those of age and wisdom. Left with no explanation, other than you are rushing, Rushing to make the all mighty dollar. Rushing to grow up to fast, Rushing to make a difference. Youth is always rushing, as narrated by adults, However, it has never been thought that we are striving, Striving toward our young dreams.
