The Highest Highs

By Cope

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

We have had our nights of pure Extascy. Left beautiful and unspoken, For only us to see, But the highest high, it couldn’t be. We have eaten the magic mushroom, We have been through it’s colorful complications, Of which laughter and colors loom, But no one expects their pending doom. Then there is coke, The lifeless drug, Those commercials are no joke, Trust me, it’s so good, you’ll go broke. My friend marijuana and me, Many times we have toked, I will smoke pot till the end of eternity, That’s just the way it’s going to be. From all of the highs of yesterdays past, I finally found the highest of highs. A high that will forever last, From which comes happiness at last. You can’t smoke it, But it you definitely can see. It’s what this amazing girl, Revealed to me. Never had I met person like her, One so gentle, caring, and smart, The more I got to know her, The faster she stole my heart. Now, even though I may be far away, It is still her that keeps me high. Just to know that I get to see her soon, Daily, knowing that gets me bye. Her I will love forever, Without her I may die. But the love she has shown me, It’s better than any high. Written January 22nd, 2002 © on Jan 22 2002 05:12 AM PST    10 • 0 • 8
