Love's History
By Cope
I keep falling in and out, Of love, With you, As her wind passes my ears. What was great, Left us with tremendous tragedy. And, yet again, with greatness. Words will be different, Feeling felt the same. In this new chapter of our story, Adolescent love of the past Now aged, wise, and strong. For, we have been through enough, To stop, The simplicity could be deadly. Us. . .could it survive? Though history has repeated in the past, Defening pain having been endured. Pain forgiven, Pain forgoten, could only be ignorance. 'Tis still you I love. You I shall always love, But together we cannot survive, Friendship is too priceless. Life says history repeats, That truth drives me to madness. Today, the knowledge of the mind, Overtakes the love of the heart. Leaving a mourning dawn upon a new friendship. Eric A. CopelandTo her, I am sorry. No worries though, our future remains bright. Written January 16th, 2002 © on Jan 16 2002 03:42 AM PST 10 • 0 • 8
