Last Resort

By DayDreamer

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

You only came to me, because you couldn't find,Anyone to talk to you, 'cept those you left behind.Call me on the telephone, so you cannot viewThe salty tears roll down my face; I'm crying over you.I can't believe that after that, my calm goes and subsides,And unleashes tears and moans that I have kept inside. The tain on my heart has just begun to fade,So please don't mind me, when you see that I am still afraid. You used my heart and made me think that I was number one.But then you mention to me that I wasn't ANYone.Lately I was thinking that for you, my love is short. Frankly, my reaction is that you're MY last resort.I'm sorry, I just LOVE the last line of this poem.. That one line alone brought me complete closure with this tough time I went through.
