A Land Of Wishing
By deviousgirl
A night in which to always remember, the sky was dark and the stars high above. I felt the drops of rain on my face, you brushed them so gently away. You leaned in closer, and I did too. You gazed longingly into my eyes; I wrapped my arms around your waist. I could smell the love in the air. Standing here all alone, just us and the night. You moved in closer, and I felt your lips brush against mine. You kissed me for what seemed like forever. It was sweet and tender, but yet it was passionately displayed. I wished for you to never pull away. The rain still patters, and the stars still gleam. We ran for cover, hearts beating fast, already drenched. We found a spot, by this lake. And with that look, there wasn't anything that you couldn't take. Our breath was short, and shallow, but we still held each other. You vowed to never let go, and I was safe in your arms. You gave me something that I no longer had to wish for, you fulfilled a dream that the stars knew well of. You promised a chance that once kept me alive. Listening to the pitter patter of the falling rain, I knew that this was my start. We spent many hours by this lake, not braving the storm, for we had one another. Running your fingers through my hair, and softly kissing my face. I knew that this was the place, a beginning and an end. To what we have, and to what we lost. The sounds of the night sang a song, it was to us, and our lives. They proclaimed us lucky, for we had and what others wanted . . . love!! The Moon rose higher, and we became intense. You didn't part from me, for as long as I can remember. The rain finally stopped, and for a warm place we ran. Holding my hand and promising me something I'd never forget. The lights from home beamed the way, and we stumbled through the door, cold, wet, and in love. We changed, and layed down with each other. You held me while you rest, It was early morning, but no where near twilight. My eyes kept fluttering, struggling to stay awake. Finally I sufficed to the call of the night. I dreamt happily of you and me, wondering of a future, and of our life to be. I could still feel your touch, my pull back to the world. I knew no matter what, you'd always be with me. No force could part us, nothing strong enough to break our bond. The moon began to go, and the stars began to fade, for our night was just about over. The sun had nearly rose, but not yet over the horizon. You awoke with a smile on the other side of the bed. I awoke, moments later, only to reach for you. You fell short of my grasp, but the distance wasn't that far. A night well spent, grains of time in the jar. Memories, that never would fade, and times that would always make us smile. Both awake we lay, silent for the new day had begun. I no longer want, for what I crave is here right beside me. I no longer pray for, but instead say thanks. I no longer grow jealous for you are mine, not there's. I need not prove a thing for you know what I am. You are loved, more then any other, you are cared for, my significant other. I will never wake again, reaching for that someone that I can't have. You are beside me forever, and you gave me a night in which I'd always remember.
