Tulip's Song

By Dogbane

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Tulip's Song by Dogbane The tulip standing proud and tall, Displays her lovely crown. Yet, deeper truth within her song Lies just below the ground. For underneath is a little bulb Ugly, most would say. Yet, there it waits in quiet rest Until the proper day. So now the winter's snow is gone And now the days grow long. The time has come for her to sing, The tulip sings her song. First with stalk, then with stem, Then with leaf so green. Then at last the bud unfolds The crowning of the Queen. So, when you see the tulips Standing proud in early spring, Don't forget the little bulb, And listen to it sing . . .Just a reminder to appreciate the unseen things in life.
