Sweetie (not really a poem)

By donnamarie

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I can't tell you to hate her or regret the 1 1/2 years of love. You did nothing wrong, sweetie. All you did was love her and gave her all you had. Don't beat yourself up because she let you down. It's her loss. I know it is yours, too. But it is her mistake and her sin. It is her shame, but your burden to bear. It's gonna take time to heal. You know the cliche. You've been here before. And you know "it's gonna hurt like hell," sweetie. But if she is blind to how amazing and strong you are. And if the fight within you does not make her burn brighter... It is better to let go than to hold on.it has a loose poem form to it. but it is mainly just my thoughts and support to a friend of mine who went through a break up with his chicky-poo... i won't speak ill of her... *cough* yeah, that is hard to do... anyway, he is where i drew my strength from when i was on the brink, and where i am getting some now, so i wish to return the favor. love ya, sweetie! and this goes for anyone who has been thrown away by a dumbass lover... thanks for reading. ;} Written March 27th, 2002 © on Mar 27 2002 08:07 AM PST   0 • 8
