God’s in Control?

By Gina145

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

“Why worry?” the sign said, “God’s in control.” I looked out of the window, Saw food for the soul – A garden of beauty, A bouquet of love, Was this man’s work Or a gift from above? But this was a moment In a place not my own. As I travelled homeward Through a world made of stone, I looked at the people Begging for their daily bread, Read posters of violence, Saw photos of the unnaturally dead, And then I remembered “God’s in control,” And that sign meant to comfort Sent a chill through my soul.
