Missing you

By katraylor

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I lie awake and imagine you lying by me, your warm arms wrapped around my body. Maybe, nestled in your loving, soft embrace, I could sleep in peace. I miss you. It's been days since I've   heard your voice,   felt your touch,   seen your message on the screen. I never minded being lonely,   before you. If you were here, I couldn't be lonely, not in the bliss of your embrace. Come to me across the miles. If I call you, Cloud Dragon, will you fly to my side? I want you to enfold me in your wings.Found it! This poem I wrote for the first guy I was really serious about... funny how feelings change, isn't it? *grimace* I very rarely write love poetry, and this is why- I think there's probably a law against using the word "embrace" twice in the space of two stanzas! However, the sentiment expressed was at the time very strong, and I hope some of that speaks here. Written December 19th, 2001 © on Jan 30 2002 04:43 PM PST   0 • 8
