Ice House
Today is one of those daysI remember from my youth. It is sooo hot and humid.Hard to breathe, is the truth.Dad went to the 'ice house' that day.He bought some big blocks of ice.We didn't have air conditioning,so he thought of something nice.He put the ice in an old wash tub. Each ice block about a foot square.Only three would fit at once. They were very heavy in there. He sat the wash tub of iceoutside a window in the shade. He put a box fan in the window, and air conditioning he had made.We all sat in front of that window, til every bit of ice was gone.We relished that cool feeling, when heat returned and day was done.
