Ancient Song
By Ld Marduk
An ancient song was on the wind, I heard it yesterday, Its notes were those of longing, For love but gone astray— It was…alas…a mournful tune, Perhaps…more like a dirge, For seems the love was lost, And so the song was heard— Carried out…upon the wind, I heard it yesterday, It made me sad…of heart and soul, For what it had to say-- The love was lost…upon a crag, From whence, it did, but plummet, For ‘twas it thought the other dead, And couldna live without it— Thus this ancient song is heard, Carried on the wind, A mournful tune of love, That chose…but not…to live.
