The Sandy Shore
By Ld Marduk
I stood upon the sandy shore,To watch the setting sun,As we two…Had done before,So very long ago—Those days, alas, art over now,Yet ‘tis I oft remember,Our walking hand in hand,Beside the oceans’ waters—Sometimes… the vault of heaven,Would be a clear blue sky,At others…all the stars were out,Reflecting in thine eyes—Now…I stand and watch, The setting sun,Upon this sandy shore,Alas, ‘tis not the same,For thou art here…no more.
