Brought Me Back

By Lime

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I know what I am Nothing more than a door mat I know you're better than that You're better than me You make things alright You are the key To all my sanity In all my weary days Everything of me kept shuttered Until that spring in May When I was lost, left behind She drained me but you, You brought me loving grace, Brought me back here too I'm not close to enough for you I'm cold, frozen by doomed love I lie, I cheat, I steal After all this, I need to swear I care for you for real You make me believe all is right You are the only key To every bit of my sanity In all my weary days Everything of me kept shuttered Until that spring in May When I was lost, left behind She drained me but you, You brought me grace, Brought me back too There's no need for pretending You make up the best parts of me And I wanna hold your trust No more hiding, no more lies You're the only key To all my sanity... In all my weary days Everything of me kept shuttered Until that spring in May When I was lost, left behind She drained me but you, You brought me grace, Brought me back too Written January 9th, 2002 © on Jan 09 2002 02:32 AM PST   20 • 0 • 8
