I Was Stupid

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Since that first meeting, fleeting emotions passed, shrouded in promise, and I still love you. Minutes, days, months, fly away, and yet your memory keeps fresh awakening me every morning with that same foolish grin and kissing me goodnight with your crystalline eyes. It took me a fall, a winter, a summer before I realized that your eyes reflected my desperate feelings. Back then, I pretended and looked past you, to only my best friend, missing out on a love I'll never experience. You walked uphill and down for me You waited for me to need you You loved me when I collapsed into myself And now I love you more than you know And you love her. You moved on, rapidly and without remorse casting your intense glances, your sweet smiles upon new territory, forgetting the unforgettable And I'm alright, I'm okay. You're only in my thoughts About every other minute. I look at you, baring my soul, and you sit at the table behind me, smiling and laughing with her. Rip me apart, steal my heart, tear my soul It's not fair; I never wished this to happen, I wish you would disappear in the mists of the past, Becoming the man I met and love once again.Sorry, this is slightly, crazy. Not quite sure what it is just yet...I just needed to get it out. Anyone have any "get over him" tips? lol :) Written April 12th, 2002 © on Apr 12 2002 03:11 PM PST   0 • 8
