Creepy Crawly Critters

By Mad Jack

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Creepy crawly critter, lived 'neath the living room floor. The zoo-keeper was an old man,he'd lived to be nearly four. There were giraffes and lions and tigersand snaggle toothed crocodiles, some great beasts went nameless, the list went on for miles.Feeding them was easy, old suet boxes would do.Quite a well rounded diet for this most impressive zoo.The mighty zoo-keeper was king, though his zoo wasn't on the map,not afraid of the most fearsome beast, though they would snarl and snap. One day though he retired. He said, 'While I'm still alive,I've got to sail the seven seas,my goodness I'm already five.'Ancient now at forty-two,sitting eating fritters,he still looks back and thinks of those, creepy crawly critters.
