Percy the Dragon, An Old & Modern Fairy Tale
By Mad Jack
Percy was a dragon with thick green scales and long pointed claws instead of toenails. Strength in his wings to fly over the land, and fire in his belly to leave a fiery brand. Good knights would ride out in shining armor, to slay the dragon terrorizing the farmers. Percy, breathing fire, would call their bluff, and ask: "Why not go and bother cousin Puff?" "I'm really a good dragon", sniffed Percy, "If you ride off now I'll show you mercy." Still, they kept coming and wouldn't quit, then he'd blast fire and singe them a bit. He wasn't magic, which wasn't the norm, so he stayed alone in his dragon dorm. The knights quit coming which left Percy in tears, so he went to sleep for a thousand years. Puff woke him up with a knock at the door, his friend and left him alone in the moor. Puff joined Percy and sat at the table, just sat and talked, (they didn't have cable). "Let's take a vacation, we'll fly together. How 'bout Hawaii, they've got good weather?" So, off they went to Mauna Loa to stay, and there you can see their fire to this day.
