Pegleg Bill the Pirate's Bosun
By Mad Jack
Pegleg Bill the Bosun stood at Mad Jack's side, when Jolly Roger was unfurled, his swelled up with pride. Thoughts consumed him of how he cheated death, as the ship's sails filled with Mother Earth's breath. He'd been in a battle quite fiery and hot, Spaniards fought ships of the English and Scot. His leg was blown off, he'd been left for dead, and thrown into the water as the whole Navy fled. Some Pirates slipped in to scavenge for loot, when they looked in the water ol' Bill yelled: "Don't shoot" They pulled ol' Bill out, propped him up by a keg, and filled him with rum while the Doc fixed his leg. When he came to, he ate biscuits and gravy, and told them about being First Mate in the Navy. He said he would join them in thanks for their care, Mad Jack said: "Men, our new Bosun's right here in this chair". Why they'd saved him, he wasn't quite sure, but, he was grateful for the Rum and the Cure. That he'd stayed loyal is not much of a shocker, he could hve been left in Davy Jone's Locker. William Sands stopped and put his pipe down, he saw the questioning in the Pub crowds frown. "It's just a story I heard from a Gypsy named Meg." Then tapped his pipe ashes out on his wooden leg.
