'Dispair'

By MalEntente

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Prison is found, back behind the eyes, Reluctance to try, full of sighs. Visions gone blurry, out of focus, Lost to ourself, to them, to us. Loads get heavier, no help in sight, Pangs get deeper, a darkening blight. Stooping, we plod, helpless we feel, Hoping for nothing and hung on a wheel. A cocoon, a shell, a whip and a snare, We're walled up, holed up, our souls are bare. Forget your past, it is gone for good . . . . . . forget your future . . . is that understood?Three hundred men standing, waiting in line for stale food and flavored water for over an hour was the inspiration for this poem.
