'Solution'

By MalEntente

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

In times of quiet, I often can hear, That moment of silence, so crystal clear. When solitude surrounds me, I speak a soft prayer, And ask God to watch you . . . somewhere out there. Then I ask Him to guard me with a watchful eye, As I fight back the tears, and refuse to cry. I know that my friends and my family so dear, Are not far away - but in my heart - here. So to guard you all, against any harm, And to keep you loved, and safe, and warm. I then close my eyes, and see all your smiles, Then I slumber, and dream . . . and throw away the miles.Learning to deal with prison life has many unexpected surprises. One of those for me was finding a solution for the dilemma of distance. Distance of miles between myself and those I loved so dear. This was "my solution".
