'Where Penguins Fly'
By MalEntente
There seldom exists in this world we live, Qualities of man that are worthy to give, A chance to believe, hope, and insight, Smiles and hugs, a light in the night. When these qualities appear in someone you know, That of listening, and hearing, and helping you grow, You'll know in that instant you've found a true friend, So stand strong in that kinship . . . until the very end. Our lives are so short and we all are weak, So remember the good and to others, speak. About treasuring each moment, of every day, And being a true friend, in every way. For friendship is magical and can lift your soul, Friends round our rough edges and make each of us whole, It seems like short moments between hello and goodbye, So take a friend's hand and go where penguins fly.My best friend ever, Robert Hasty, Jr. died accidentally a couple of years ago. I miss him sorely and often. Robert and I had an ongoing sort of joke between us that penguins could really fly. Everyone thought we were nuts. We were. I will never replace the joy that Robert brought to my life. This poem is for Robert and all of you out there who have know a “Robert“ of your own. To you my friend - I miss you!
