The Worst Nightmare Of My Life
By mohit
Lying down on my bed, when goddess moon was covered by the clouds, I had a nightmare, a nightmare which made my world dark and fragile, Lying down on my bed, when thunder and lightning tore apart the sky, I had a nightmare, a nightmare which left my heart in pieces, Lying down on my bed, when the tears rolled down onto the surface of the earth, I had a nightmare, a nightmare which left indelible grisly images in my memory, Lying down on my bed tonight, I had the worst nightmare of my life. Walking across the sea-shores, under the purplish sky, Watching the stars twinkling high above, I lost my world, I lost my happiness, I lost the music in my soul, I lost the love in my heart, I lost the serenity within me. Walking across the sea-shores, hand in hand, Besides me I had the most beautiful creature on this land, We both were in love with each other, very much inseparable Her beauty outshone the beauty of the moon, she was simply invincible, She was in my arms, clothed in a red attire, With love revolving in the atmosphere out there. Our worlds, which were now but one and not two, Had all that we needed, all that we craved for, There was no sign of sadness, no sign of pain. Joy, happiness, merry-making, smiles, laughter, love, peace, serenity, Was all that it was made up of, was all that existed. I could see the sparkle in her eyes, I could feel the happiness in her mesmerizing smile. There was no sign of darkness in our life. When, suddenly our worlds were separated, When, suddenly all that I had was snatched, When, suddenly my world was struck by a lightning Which tore apart my heart and soul, Which left me all alone. Right out of the blue, she was snatched by the sea-waves, Out of nowhere, a storm approached my world and took her away from me, Perhaps lady fate was jealous of us and our happiness, And she surrounded my world in a strong whirlpool. She screamed and screamed, a scream that I can still hear She pleaded for life, she cried for life, her tears dropping down on the harsh waters, Tears that bite like thorns in my heart, I did all that I could, all that I was capable of I wanted to save my love, I wanted to confront the whirlpool, But all that I could do was watch, watch her drown, All that I could do was hear, hear her scream, All that I could do was curse, curse the fate. I couldn’t do anything more, I couldn’t do anything to save her or rather my life, I couldn’t prevent those screams, I couldn’t prevent those tears, I couldn’t prevent the death of my soul, coz just a few days back, A few days back I had my legs amputed, And I could do nothing, I laid there till morning, waiting for death, Waiting for an an absolution that would never come. Lying down on my bed, when no birds sang in that atmosphere of cry and pain, I had a nightmare, a nightmare which stole the smiles from my face and left me in vain.
