We stand here on the brink Alone and yet together Trying to reach each other I, the deaf, make motions, While you, the blind, are speaking And so we cannot understand the other's words Then suddenly you smile, I smile in return. We speak volumes to each other. Still, I cannot hear, Still, you cannot see, But we feel each other calling. Our hearts are in communion, Our souls alive with chatter, And then we understand.
