Wings of Sorrow
By Morgan LeFay
Stretching and soaring, I find you There above my life A constant thing Though paying little 'tension Higher go I To ask you Simple things that be What is life? I ask you humbly But up you go Till stripped bare am I You stare at me And brush me off As though I mattered not What thing I wonder Did i do To cause you Bitter stress You turn and say 'You came here You followed me on high You dare to ask the questions And yet you still deny' 'The wars you fight The things you kill Are no less to me Than any one of your own So just leave me be.' I sped down then Back to where this is And cradled in my heart The truth, the bitter truth Of Eternal Death Our god has turned Away from us And we don't give a damn We carry on Just as though he cared So I shed no tears For my race But saved them for our Lord He helped us walk the Earth And then he saw us fallany suggestions for a last line meaning the same thing or a variation on the idea that sounds more natural Written July 30th, 2001 © on Jul 30 2001 10:01 AM PST 0 • 13
