My Christmas at Grand Beach
I wake up at 9.00. I can’t recall where I am. I hear the vibrating sounds, I am confused, anxious, but excited. Towards the window I move, To my surprise is white snow all over. And the vibrating water waves, And the cloudy sky I see. This is not Mombasa! This is not Nyali beach, Neither is it Indian Ocean. And what is it? Beach Grand? Noo! Great joy overflows in my heart. Gorgeous gifts I receive though I gift not, Except the gift of self Friends surround me. My family in them I see Tears of joy fill my eyes, Speechless I stand. Dumb or deaf I can’t tell, For I am just there Beautiful is the clear blue-sky even if for a while. Out I stand facing the raving waters. On my right New Buffalo I see, on my left Michigan City and of course the great Chicago Amazing! Amazing! Amazing. Lo! The magnificent sky! The still waters afar are a peace in my heart. And the white capping, surfing water waves a joy I experience in my heart even if for a moment. My chritmas with Moriaty's family:Danny, Barry, Mary, Kay, Peter, Rita, Erin, Bridgid...my my colleagues, George, Philip and Angelus.
