We almost …
She was no longer I had before Her beauty was gone Appearance yes But in my heart and mind, she was ugly Where had her beauty gone? Why no longer attractive? Her smile was a curse to me He laughter had become sour And her talk was poison Our house was a little prison Without ventilation Our bed was like hell Her kisses were dry and this was enough to make me go out In search of greener pastures What happened? Only few years had gone by Not even forgotten our honey moon Our promises, our fantasies… What went wrong? What really was missing? You may read this with my other poem, "Love renewed" for it to make sense. Written December 14th, 2001 © on Dec 13 2001 04:14 PM PST 0 • 8
